Coral Harbor in Neptune City Celebrates Resident’s 100th Birthday
Family Members, Guests and Staff Gather for Lucy Vacchiano; Mayor Presents Centenarian with Proclamation at Birthday Party
For Lucy Vacchiano, a resident of Coral Harbor Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Neptune City, a life well lived is one surrounded by family and friends. And that’s just how Ms. Vacchiano celebrated her 100th birthday. In honor of the centenarian, family, guests and staff of the skilled nursing facility recently gathered together for her birthday party, which included a Proclamation from Mayor Robert Brown.
“We are delighted to host this celebration for Ms. Vacchiano and join her and her family in this special day,” said Coral Harbor’s Jeremy Schuster, administrator. In addition to the Proclamation, the festivities featured entertainment with musician Rockin’ Randy. The entire group also serenaded Ms. Vacchiano with a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday,” and cake and refreshments were served.
Ms. Vacchiano was born on February 20, 1919, in Connecticut. Her parents emigrated from Italy to America, where they raised Ms. Vacchiano and her 11 siblings. She is the proud mother of two sons and grandmother of three great grandchildren, and, for many years, Ms. Vacchaino loved to cook and host family gatherings. She worked for Signal Light, a light bulb manufacturer, and her husband owned a heating and oil business.
Located at 2050 6th Avenue in Neptune City, Coral Harbor Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, a Marquis Health Services member, is a 110-bed skilled nursing facility providing post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. Coral Harbor maintains a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
