Dr. Sushil K. Mehandru, FACPRenal Program Director
Dr. Mehandru specializes in all aspects of kidney disease, complex hypertension, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and renal transplant follow-up. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and has served as the Chief of Nephrology at Jersey Shore University Hospital since 1983. Throughout his medial career, Dr. Mehandru has received a range of honors and distinctions, including “Top Doctor – Metro Area” awards and “Compassionate Doctor” and “Patients Choice” recognitions. Dr. Mehandru is well-respected for his medical expertise, and his current faculty appointments include Professor of Medicine at Hackensack-Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Rutgers Medical School. He graduated with distinction from Christian Medical School, and he completed his residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital and his fellowships in nephrology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Temple University Hospital. Active in the medical community, Dr. Mehandru is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the International Society of Nephrology and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and has published dozens of articles in medical journals and books.
