Medical Director
Dr. Roper, MD, RPh, has been practicing Internal Medicine in his Jersey Shore private practice for over 20 years; as well as medical consultant work for Monmouth county nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and adult daycares. He is also the creator and patent holder of TIDAmed (The Interim Doctor App); a smart device application that allows patients to remotely and privately connect with doctors for minor ailments.
Subacute Medical Director
Dr. Abboud completed his internal medicine residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio in 2003, and is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He completed a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration on Healthcare Administration at the Isenberg School of Management-University of Massachusetts.
Driven by his interest in healthcare informatics, he became certified in Health Information Technology through the American Association for Physician Leadership. Dr. Abboud has been appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine of the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and is currently practicing as part of the hospital medicine team at University Jersey Shore Medical Center.
With his experience in internal medicine and special interests in the care of the elderly, Dr. Abboud looks forward to joining the Coral Harbor team!
Nephrologist
Dr. Sushil Mehandru, MD, is a Nephrology specialist in Neptune, New Jersey. He attended and graduated from medical school in 1972, having over 48 years of diverse experience, especially in Nephrology. He is affiliated with many hospitals including Bayshore Community Hospital, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Ocean Medical Center, Riverview Medical Center.
Cardiologist
Dr. Michael R Aaron, DO, is a Cardiovascular Disease (Cardiology) specialist in New Jersey. He attended and graduated from New York College Of Osteo Medicine Of New York Institute Of Technology in 1986, having over 34 years of diverse experience, especially in Cardiovascular Disease (Cardiology). He is affiliated with many hospitals including Community Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center- Southern Campus, Ocean Medical Center, Southern Ocean Medical Center. Dr. Michael R Aaron also cooperates with other doctors and physicians in medical groups including Shore Heart Group, Pa.
Orthopedic Director
Dr. Dickerson is a highly trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at Performance Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Wall Township, Toms River, and Shrewsbury, New Jersey. He specializes in an integrative approach to treating and managing sports injuries and pediatric injuries, as well as joint reconstruction.
A native of Louisiana, Dr. Dickerson graduated summa cum laude from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, with a Bachelor’s degree in biology. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana’s State University’s School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana. After completing his internship in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Dickerson completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. Dr. Dickerson’s training didn’t stop there. He continued honing his craft, narrowing in on sports medicine while studying at the Orthopaedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles in Connecticut and New York.
Dr. Dickerson mainly specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive shoulder, knee, ankle, elbow, and hip procedures. He also performs comprehensive total joint replacement and helps his patients manage traumatic bone and joint injuries.
Physiatrist
Dr. Dambeck attended New York College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received his medical degree in 2004. Dr. Dambeck completed an internship year in internal medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ where he graduated in 2005. He completed his residency training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City where he was the Chief Resident in 2007-2008, graduating in 2008. He is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Palliative Care Director
Dr. Sharma is a trained board-certified physician specializing in Palliative Medicine with over 14 years of palliative care experience. She joined VNA Health Group in July 2018 and was instrumental in starting a community-based palliative program. This initiative helped to provide palliative care to patients in their homes, long-term care, and assisted living facilities. Prior to joining VNA Health Group, Dr. Sharma worked at Montefiore Medical Center in New York as a Palliative Medicine consulting physician for 12 years. She is dedicated to bringing her expertise, compassion, and vast knowledge in palliative care to her patients with chronic and life-limiting illnesses and to improving their quality of life.

Haitian Program Director
Dr. Normy Dessalines, MD, specializes in internal medicine in Red Bank, NJ and has over 10 years of experience in the field of medicine. He graduated from his medical school with his medical degree in 2009. He is affiliated with numerous hospitals in New Jersey and more, including Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Patient Care & Education
Dr. Mira Ahuja has facilitated Caregiver Support Groups in Monmouth and Ocean Counties for the past 20 years. She has educated caregivers on the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and its effects on the patients’ daily capabilities and activities.
She further shows them ways to deal with issues encountered with their loved ones without getting overwhelmed. She educates our staff on effective care of patients and is proud of her affiliation with Marquis Health Consulting Services. She is a staunch believer in the motto that ‘Patients Come First’.
Dr. Ahuja works in collaboration with leading geriatrician Dr. Joshua Shua-Haim, MD, FACP, AGSF, CMD Professor of Medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Respiratory Therapist
Steve is a Certified Respiratory Therapist with 30 plus years of hospital experience in extensive critical care, and 14 years in homecare with a strong emphasis on high-tech modalities. He has broad experience in homecare ventilators, CPAP/ BIPAP qualifications and compliance, and preventative maintenance programs for all equipment.
He currently serves as Respiratory Therapy Director in various healthcare facilities. In his previous position at Community Surgical Supply, he oversaw a team of 25 plus clinicians and was responsible for all in-services, staffing, and performance evaluations. He developed an extensive home ventilator program that grew from 14 to 150 home ventilators and was instrumental in helping the company achieve JCAHO accreditation in 2007 and 2010.
Steve is a graduate of Borough of Manhattan Community College and University del Noreste, School of Medicine in Tampico, Mexico.
